Er--yeah, whatever. *Proceeds to ignore sonic* So, yeah, Merry's cool, too. He suffered the Black Breath, while Pippin never did. (Ooookaaayy, that was obvious.

Well, yes, but that was more serious. He also got breathed on when they were still in the Shire--well, in Bree. he went out for a stroll and saw a Black rider as just a black shape in the dark by the hedge. He followed without knowing why, and suddenly he (pardon the expression ) blacked out. When Nob went out to look for him, he saw 2 men lifting something, and gave a shout, but when he got up to the spot, there was only Merry, seeming to be asleep. But when Nob shook him, he said, "I thought I had fallen into deep water." So, that's the Black Breath. Strider (Aragorn) told them what it was.

Okay. Hope you don't mind if I tell it. ;D
Well, they stopped for the night (or something) in a side chamber, in which there happened to be a hole, right in the middle of the floor. And while the others are settling down, Pippin is curious and goes over to it. ;D And he *checks book for accuracy* *is surprised to see she was wrong* *gets back to story* So anyway, "moved by sudden impulse", Pippin picks up a stone and drops it down the well. But Gandalf hears the belated "plunk", and says "What was that?" And when Pippin confesses, he says, "Fool of a Took! This is a serious journey, not a hobbit walking-party. Throw yourself in next time, and then you will be no further nuisance. Now be quiet!" And that's when they heard the sound of a hammer. And that's that. Hee-hee. It's fun to tell these stories. ;D Is there anything in the LOTR movies of which you question the authenticity?

well I'm a little confused about the evenstar, I heard that Arwen gives it to Frodo, but I'm confused why

The Evenstar was her "proof" of immortality, and basically as long as she had it, she could go to the Undying Lands. She gave it to Frodo because she knew his burden was great and she did not want to leave Aragorn. Am I correct Rilda? I haven't read the books in probably 2-3 years, so I'm really rusty...

As I remeber it, Arwen left the Elfstone in Lothlorien and Galadriel gave it to Aragorn when the company came through after Moria. That's why one of Aragorn's names is Elfstone. And, by the way, in the book the stone was green. Something just came together for me : Undomiel means Evening Star, so that may be where the movie people got that. But Arwen did give Frodo a white stone. She said that when the memory of darkness troubled him, it would bring him aid. But I haven't read the books in a while, either *coughatleastayearcough*, so that may not be precise. Hope it helps, though.
