When I was a child I dreamt I could master the flute or the piano but it appeared I'm a 'musical invalid' So , I'm enjoying the music only by listening and gently envy to the gifted people ;D

I do. I play the original Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata, Turkish March, and then my big book of "Classical Piano Rags"-I play Scott Joplin's original 'Easy Winners'. I love to play that one. fun going up the key board.

^^...Sorry, I'm talking about Christian Rock. I don't listen to Non-Christian rock, if that's what you were thinking. ;D Actually, WiQu, it's not the words (which on some songs, I understand, can be pretty bad) so much as the music that's unhealthy. It can actually make you less smart. (I can tell you about the studies.)

I'd like to hear those studies, Rilda, I'm really interested in knowing why people may think that way.

Would you rather I PMed the studies to you or posted them here? (By the way, they're in my own words and may not be only as accurate as my memory, but the message is the same. )

I'll post it here. Let the word get out!! ;D
Plant study: Three groups of plants were grown in dark cupboards so as not to be affected by the light. Group 1 had no music. G 2 had Classical music. G 3 had rock music. G 1 grew up. G 2 grew towards the music. G 3 grew away from the music.
Mouse study:
Three groups of mice were bought and moved to a basement, and given 2 weeks to get accimated to their new homes. Then a boy started running them thru mazes. G1 was a control group : no music. G2 had classical music played to them while they ran the maze. G3 had rock music played while they ran the race. For all groups at the beginning the average time was 10 min. G1 learned : I beleive their time ended up around 8 min. G2 learned better : I beleive they ended up running the maze in around 5 min. G3, I beleive, ended up around 13 min. They also had to do the experiment twice, because the first time they had the groups in cages with others of their own group, and the rock music mice were killing each other. The second time they kept that group in seperate cages.

And where is the document that that was an official research? There can just be made up stories that these tests have been done.
