Which book do you think we should read and discuss first? and please tell your reason why, it will help us a little.
I am still deciding on a few things, like the amount of days for each chapter and how many days to review. As lilpippin said, each book is different, so the amount of days will really depend on which book we read.
Thank you for your vote and comments, it is greatly appreciated.
(My thoughts now) I personally think we should do the LotR trilogy, because most of us probably have the series already and are probably familiar with it.

I agree w/ Ven. The Silmarillion is awesome... but it is mostly about the elves and we should read about the history of elves after we read about "modern" elves.... if you know what I mean.(I would want to read Sil. after LotR) And yes, we are all familiar w/ LotR and it should be the first thing we read. Hopefully starting with FotR!?

OK, my opinion is that we should start with Silmarillon. I think we should read it first cause that's when all journy and adventures start:) But I don't have anything against - starting with LOTR triology

Anyone else want to voice their opinion on which book we should start with? Or at least, vote on which one you would like to read first? I'm only going to leave this up for a few more days, so get your votes in now!

Definitely LOTR. Silmarillon is too complex.

Well, then I guess LotR wins then! We will be starting it pretty soon. I will let you all know when that is well in advance. Now, to go and find my (dusty) copy of The Fellowship of the Ring!
